Important Dates to Remember in 2007

Mid-February – Mid-April: Intensive Period (In Process)

This will be a time of intensive communication to our Congregation in the form of both factual information and Biblical teaching. We want members to be informed in order to personally share in a decision that will influence the future of First Church. Brochures, posters, newsletters, Bible study lessons, and a special series of sermons will help spread the message throughout the church family. You will have an opportunity to learn more about the planned renovations and the impact they will have on our mission.

Sunday, February 18: Informal Informational Meeting (Passed)

This meeting will be held immediately after worship in the Narthex for those who missed the Church Conference in January.

Thursday, March 15: Advance Commitment Gathering (Passed)

If you already know that you want to support the Capital Campaign and you want to join with others in praying about and making an advance commitment, please make arrangements to attend one of the Advance Commitment Gatherings on this date. Contact Patty Steffey (412.521.5346 or cegphem@aol.com) for details.

Sunday, March 25: Special Event Dinner and Commitment Service (Passed)

Please join the entire First Church family as we make our commitments to the Find Us Faithful capital campaign. Plan to attend the 11:00 a.m. Commitment Service in worship (where members will dedicate their commitment cards) followed by a Special Dinner and Music Program in Fellowship Hall.  Sanctuary Nursery and activities will be provided for young children.   Be sure to reserve this date on your personal calendar.

Monday, April 9 – Saturday, April 14: Courier Commitment Calls (In Process)

This period will provide those unable to attend the Special Event Dinner, and those who have yet to respond to the Find Us Faithful campaign, an opportunity to register their response. Couriers, comprised of First Church volunteers, will call those who have not responded and offer to go by their homes to pick up their commitment cards. There will be no pressure or attempts to coerce anyone. Members will receive door hanger bags, into which they can put their commitment cards, and then hang the bags on their front doors for the couriers to pick up.

Sunday, April 15: Celebration Sunday

This is the day the Congregation will gather and joyfully celebrate our Find Us Faithful Capital Campaign. We will take our first step forward in fulfilling our commitments as we thank God for the opportunity to share his love and move forward by faith.
